Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Yes, this is the day I do the happy dance every year – I made it through another Hotter Than Hades August!!!! Soon we will have “Blue Northers” coming down to bring cooler temps & lower humidities. I will be able to leave the house without worrying about heat stroke (I truly hate hot weather, one of the reasons I belong back in Illinois) & I can get the machete out to hack through the jungle the backyard has become. Hey, I plant the seeds & water ’til they’re established – after that, they’re on their own. I used to try to keep up with the weeding in the Summer, but the birds & air currents get those weed seeds strewn about faster than I can stop them from germinating.
The weather seems to know the calendar has changed the month today because the high was only in the mid 80s & the humidity wasn’t quite so oppressive. The forecast is for back in the 90s all week & another Hurricane has formed (not likely to come this way, but we shall see), but at least there is the HOPE of coolers days coming soon.
